- סְבַבch. sam(סבבto go around, turn); Af. אַסִּב to go around (announcing). Y.R. Hash. II, 58a top דהוון אילין מַסְּבִין יומא דיןוכ׳ these went around (as messengers to announce the New-Moon) to-day, and others the day after. Ib. מהו דיַסְּבוּן; למה מַסְּבָה, v. צְפַת.
